Joono, I think the ease and speed of world travel would be in their favour. I wasn't thinking genocide. The entire population needs to be thinned out so containing a manufactured virus is not a high priority.

They would surely need a vaccination or cure first though?  Otherwise what would be the point?  I doubt very much that anyone has done that so far.

Australia seems to be a world leader in medical science, at least it was before science didn't exist anymore in our country.

thinning out does not help if the remaining population breeds like rabbits.

It doesn't seem very likely I admit. Just a passing thought really.  Although viruses are tricky little buggers. Maybe they thought they had a vaccine but then the virus went and changed it's spots.

And maybe I have been watching too many conspiracy theory movies
