This was the topic of discussion amongst a group of friends earlier in the night. One in our group is a lesbian longing for a child with her partner. Surprisingly, quite a few women offered to loan out their husbands.

No, but I wouldn't like him doing it in more clinical ways either. I'm not so generous that I am happy for another woman to be raising my children's siblings. Perhaps because I would have liked more children myself?

My son is a sperm donor and apparently most recipients are lesbians so I'm guessing the options aren't totally closed. He is allowed to father up to 30 children including his own I believe. I'm still not sure how I feel about that, part of me is glad that these women who really want a child may have that dream fulfilled and part of me worries for the children, how they will feel when they are older. Plus it is odd thinking you may have grandchildren you will never know.

Well at the pub tonight I thought it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not the jealous type and as long as there is no emotional attachment, what's the big deal?

But when I got home I cahnged my mind lol.

Not because of the act itself. I don't really care about that. But can you imagine the complications of your OH fathering a child with a close friend?? Would it mean that my kids have a step sister/brother? Would we always have to invite mother/child inot the bosom of our family?

Yes, I agree.  Too complicated.  Not just for ourselves but maybe also for the child.  It would be a huge decision with so much to consider.

the fact is women can get S*X pretty easily. Why wouldn't the woman just go to the pub or somewhere and just pick someone they like???.

I think the kids end up alright despite the hesitation that we feel as outsiders looking in.

There are a large number of kids at our school (perhaps because it is inner city) with same sex parents. These kids are so together and confident that it is a joy to see.

Someone with a legal inclination could probably clarify this, but if hubby did it the old fashioned way, wouldn't he then be liable for child support?

I read meeps reply differently and so read your your reply thinking you were going to say the same parents, rather than same sex parents. I think same parents is a bigger issue.

Cause I imagine they might want to have some idea of a guys personality before they unleash potential loser charactaristics on their kid?
