This was the topic of discussion amongst a group of friends earlier in the night. One in our group is a lesbian longing for a child with her partner. Surprisingly, quite a few women offered to loan out their husbands.

My response to that is that I think that is a heterosexual instinct. I instinctively imagine it being complicated for the kids too.

So perhaps that is why I am so surprised at how amazing these kids turn out.

meep did say that it would be complicated, it's just that I thought she meant it would be complicated when your best friends children have the same father as your own children. It was just the way I read it.

Yes, that was what I meant.  There is the possibility that the child's life would also be complicated for the same reasons as ours. 

I did not mean the complications would be the result of having same sex parents.

That's a bit unusual  isn't it?  I mean why would she prefer that to the 'turkey baster'.  Most lesbians I know wouldn't  want to

People do what they have to do to get what they want. Why is that so hard to understand? THere need not be any attraction or love involved.
