If this is true we really need to wonder if he is a fit and proper person to be our elected leader

mmmm....just about anyone other than the front bench of the LNP, shysters the lot of them. I think abbott has an anger problem and he has shown that he isn't very bright and has embarrassed Australia internationally (more than once). If he was an employee in a business he would have had his three written warnings and been sacked by now.

"Now thats scrapping the bottom of the sewer barrel there in an attempt to muck rake but not unexpected from the left and their desperate attempts to smear"
I seem to recall that a few forum members were very concerned about the former PM life 20 or so years ago. Most of them from very dodgy sources, but that apparently isn't scrapping the bottom of the sewer barrel there in an attempt to muck rake .

Nobody is perfect but we expect more from MP's, especially those who are elected as Prime Ministers.

Abbott too is floundering. In opposition he cultivated an image of bluff geniality, although many suspected that his youthful temper and volatility were just beneath the surface. At every opportunity he donned his hard hat or the bushfire-fighter kit to persuade us he was an ordinary, laconic roll-your-sleeves-up Australian.
But now he is beginning to sound like someoneโs slow-witted uncle, calmly explaining to us why we need to suffer for the country."

I hear you am*3. But only in the short time Abbott has attempted to man the helm of our precious ship, from what he has done, said and smirked to date, well.... I actually 'cringe' at the mention of his name or at the sight of his image.
'Perfect' is NOT an adjective that immediately springs to my mind if I were to write a sentence about Mr Abbott.....call me weird, I do not care.
Abbott is not what I expected...... for PM of Australia.....apparently a lot of others voted for him.
It is hard for me *sobbing uncontrollably
.....but many days and weeks of hysterical laughter later......... DD : )

well abbott is certainly akin to something found in the bottom of a barrel so it's rather fitting really.
