it comes as 2 sticks, if i put them both in the fridge, by the time i get to the second stick it would be sour? or bad, so i freeze it. i still have some from the fist stick, but yesterday it tasted a little funny. i forgot to take the other out of the freezer.
i buy butter in a block the unsalted stuff, chop it in half soon after i get home from the supermaket
leave one half in the fridge which seems to keep for ages and the other half outside covered, by the time it smells a bit funny ive used most of it anyhow and chuck the rest in the bin and bring the other one out, this all depends on cool weather and time of year
in the summer i'll keep it all in the fridge but still seems sliceable using a decent knife, just gotta be careful using shape knives

Jimmy, if you just stabbed yourself with the point of a knife, and it is deep, keep an eye on it OK?
if it gets red, or warm, or anything odd, you could be getting an infection. It isn't just the butter, it is skin bacteria that can get in and cause problems...

this is a good page to read about cuts. It says to put an antibiotic ointment on, but if you have antiseptic like betadine, use that, or get some.

feels better joz! i'm glad you said that. just now i reopened the wound using hot water, ran jim beam in it, then more hot water.

Good 🙂
antiseptic stuff, then a band aid
change that every day, and check the wound is clean
antiseptic stuff again, before the new band aid, every day, until it looks good
because you don't want an infection

good advice from you both. i cant open a door with it or lift a jacket, so i'm sure i cut into the bone or cracked it, but i can move all my fingers.
i found a thing labled triple anti-biotic in there with sterile gauze. i have a great immune system, but who knows when you drive butter into your hand. and like you mentioned....the bacterior on your skin.
feels even better now. how 'bout cooking me breakfast? 🙂

You have to do that yourself. Just be careful with that hand, you want it to heal, so the wound needs to be closed, you know?
also check the knife, that nothing broke off if you think you did hit a bone
any funny stuff with that wound see a dr

i definitely hit bone or it would have straight through, and i felt it. it's an old steak knife that used to be pointy and sharp, the tip is worn slightly and not that sharp, still cuts steak though. i can tell it'll be ok at this "point". plus, yeah...i'll be looking redness, especially if it travels.
thanks! 🙂
