This is not aimed at anyone in particular. I'm just trying to think of ways to keep all the cs'ers interested and contributing. The thread seems to be moving away from the original purpose of taking the time out to appreciate whats around us everyday.
Should there be a limit on how many photos a person can post? e.g. 10
Should there be limit on how many 'old' pictures can be posted. e.g. 5 pics from disk/album, plus 5 new photos
or 5 'old' photos and unlimited new pics.
I know sometimes it's not possible to get out and take something new for the challenge (although Joz always manages to find something that fits the theme) so postng a "here's one I prepared earlier" pic is the alternative and keeps the thread going. Personally I miss the happy snaps from people that spot something on their way to work, or in their freezer, or garden etc
What do you all think? Any ideas, thoughts, opinions.....
If you don't want to post your opinions here, please message me.

Back to the very first thread I quickly felt there should be a limit on photos allowed, but since then I've found some threads I post many, others I post none. I still think a limit of up to 10 pics is plenty (maybe less). If anything I'd like to see photos that have already been shared on another challenge thread not posted. I know some people do this because it fits the new theme but I like to see different photos rather than the same one.
As for the new vs old, I do a bit of both and think it would be way too hard to 'police'. Often when the challenge is first announced I'll post one or two from the album, then try to look for new things to photograph that fit the theme as the week goes on. Sometimes this is easier said than done due to other commitments, one of the reason's I don't do the 'photo a day' challenges at the moment was due to time and I may or may not have been a little obsessed with them
I also think the different prompts at times can lend themselves to old vs new.
So yes I think photos should be limited (although this could encourage 2nd/3rd ID's to be dragged out for those who are really keen). I think old vs new photos should be allowed and left to the individual, maybe posters can note if it's a photo taken for the challenge, then the kudo's can reflect that for those that appreciate the effort in getting out and tackling the challenge in the moment.

@kabarine wrote:To be honest I just scroll past the HUGE, professional looking ones, especially if there a few on the page. Not everyone can get out to places to take pics are a particular theme, so I dont mind them using ones thy already have, but perhaps not so many from one poster.
Give those who dont own fancy cameras or cant take professional looking pics a go as well, theit photo as just as important imo
It looks as if most of the winning photos are usually the not so "professional" ones but the more personal ones.

I agree with that, especially if the 'repeat' photo originally got a high number of kudos and made it to the winners/runnersthread.

I have reused pics that did not get many votes if it fits the new theme better, a couple of times. And a couple of times, put in an entire photo, rather than a part of it, as a resubmit. But I prefer to find something new (meaning one not used at all before), and am wary of doing the same pic/in part or whole, more than a couple of times.
just me, don't mind seeing pics again from a new angle, if it fits the theme really well

I don't mind all the pics. They're interesting to look at. Sometimes there seems to be a plethora of trees, or houses, or cute kids/animals, but that's ok. They're still nice to look at.
You don't have to scroll through from the beginning all the time, just from where you previously left off.
I just vote for the ones with a wow factor.

What about a limit to posts in a row rather than over all posts by individuals. Would that help keep it varied and interesting?

I don't know if it matters so much whether the photos are new or old, so long as interest in the thread continues. I appreciate the weekly challenge as a motivation to learn/use my camera and for the inspiration provided by so many creative photos.
I agree that an asking limit of 6-10 photos per challenge is not unreasonable.

As someone else said, if someone posts a lot in a row, I tend to only vote for the one or two I like the most so they might be diluting their votes.
I am making more of an effort to not vote for everything
