Questions re the photo thread

Chukk, what's the difference between the smurfs you can buy now, and the originals from 30 years ago? I was only saying t o hubby the other day I wish I still had mine. I think my SIL gave them to my nieces. SHe also found my barbies and gave them to her girls, who promptly broke them. I was a tad upset about that. I had a Patch doll, and my Sisters Paul doll, as well as Olympic barbie and some others. Would be worth a fortune now

Re: Questions re the photo thread

I still have the Smurfs we  mostly got as a bonus from the petrol station in the early '80's.

I just dug them out when I saw Chuk's photo. They need a good clean and the painter one has his paintbrush broken off, which I don't remember that being like that last time I looked at them.

I used to keep them on top of the fridge and give them to visitng children to play with and then own children played with them.

They were in a plastic bag with other small plastic toys (some heavy) so I will keep them separate now.

chuk wrote : The newer ones [Smurfs] are also ugly.

Same with My Little Pony, etc.. they look nothing like they used to do. They older styles were better.

Re: Questions re the photo thread

they look like jaaks style. Way back some fakes were made. Collectable to the right person as they were in short supply but the new ones apart from being like in the movie, look like the old fakes
