He was quite a character and I'm glad he made it to 100. But it is sad that Coronavirus caused his end.

maybe had boris not been a numpty old tom would still be alive?
his complete stuff up handling of the virus has caused many many more deaths than there might have been

Oh well, I don't feel sorry for him. He had a good innings. I also don't see him as any more of a hero than anyone else who served in the armed forces. Certainly, raising money by pushing a walker around a garden doesn't constitute "hero status" in my books.

He should have been protected from the virus in the first place , using special provisions paid by a tiny percentage of the funds raised, considering his $50,000,000 fund raising for their Government health depart

He couldn't receive the vaccine as he had pneumonia. And any measures to protect him would probaby have necessitated isolating him from all his family and friends. Maybe he didn't want that.

I think advanced age would have been the major contributor.
But he certainly was a remarkable man.

The point I was making is that he should not have caught pneuonia or covid in the first place - even if meant relocating to mild climate and covid free Australia for the duration at a time when he was healthy
