they did it after the NASA accident, they did it after John Denver's death, so they do it to everyone, they're not just singling this bloke out.
It's still mean though - but I find it more tasteful to do it about a criminal (not saying that the accused is/are in this case - just generally speaking) than I do about someone who has died, especially in tragic circumstances.
Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.
