Radio host Ben Fordham's claims Ms Gillard was being investigated by police

2GB host Ben Fordham told his listeners today he wanted to correct comments made by Ms Gillard during an interview in March that canvassed the AWU case.

Fordham said the police were still taking statements and had asked him to make a formal statement relating to the March 7 interview.

I don't get it. The country is not a bank which needs an ever increasing profit. We have new cancer treatment centres already delivered or under construction, pensioners got a significant increase in payments, Schools got facilities that many had been in need of for years, and new funding arrangements for schools with increases to assist in improving our standards which have declined over the past 15 years..... We also have 3x AAA credit ratings for the first time ever.

What is the problem?

I do not understand any of it, it looks as if the media are hell bent on convincing us we are in trouble but reading that makes it clear we are not.

There must be so much more to it that I can't see.

With an aging population and an ever increasing cancer rate not to mention mental health problems never seen in the past we need to spend the funds not hold onto them so we look good to the banks.

I liken it to pensioners who ferret away their savings and live in poverty so they die with a big bank account.

How are they any worse than those that have gone before?

How can they have a great track record for promising then not delivering? This is only their second term. They have delivered on many of the promises. They have to negotiate on others, just like any other time.

Just what is it that makes people single this government out and single Gillard out as being the worst PM of all time?

I did not nor ever said we need to have a massive surplus BUT we do need a surplus so there is money there for emergencies, just like your rainy day bank account.

The countless number of disasters have greatly dented the coffers and could not be foreseen and I agree any available money should be spent on the needs of all communities.

I do not think any of us fully realise how long Australia's enormous deficit which is rising daily will take to pay back at the interest rate (not sure what that is) the government is paying (you and me the tax payer). No business can sustain this growing debt without repercussions, at some stage it must be payed back and when that happens you the tax payer will be paying the bill with higher taxes, less concessions, gst increases etc etc.

Crunch time is inevitable whether we stick our heads in the sand or not, it will not go away.

How can she now deny it IF she does know, according to Ben she may not have known at that time so benefit of the doubt until now but surely someone has told her by now.

still nothing but fabricated tosh. nothing. where are the police records? have the police confirmed talking to fordham ? it is illegal for police to talk to fordham if there was indeed an ongoing investigation . its also illegall for fordham to speculate if privy to indside information of the sort. it is not illegall strangely enough for fordham to just make things up . that is the reason its untrue.. because if true and ongoing he would not be allowed to speak about IT until she was at least charged. its carp.

Can anyone explain why NSW was offered 5 billion and states like Western Australia  $300 million. Its a big difference.
