Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

After being locked out i.e., not able to sign in, and trying to jump thru all the hoops re non appearing emails and phone numbers no longer connected it has just become easier to register a new, all be it very similar, posting id.

So this is the new improved lurker ๐Ÿ™‚ . Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

I will joz, when it works ๐Ÿ™‚ I just tried that way in but no joy ๐Ÿ˜ž

when it directs me to that change password page

i go to 'my ebay' up top^, sign-in from there, then that new page appears (forgot whats on it)

then click CS which is bookmarked

if it hasnt signed me in to the boards (sometimes it does sometime it doesnt - i sign-in to the discussion board

which works for me everytime

so it might mean signing in twice in two different areas, siging-in to 'my ebay' first though does the trick

Signatures suck.

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

I used the pin straightaway yesterday.. The system rejected it even though I entered it correctly. Requested another one and that worked fiine.

The email says link is valid for 24 hrs to, but it was less than 1/2 hr later when I used it that it failed as it was expired!

The text msg pin seems the better option if correct mobile no. Is on your records.

It worries me a bit that some people weren't getting the email.  Mine came through immediately.  Could it mean that someone else has already accessed your account and has changed your contact details?

What's this email you're worried about people not getting?

If I haven't been locked out can I assume to be not affected?

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

I would say they just haven't got to you yet, freaki. I only got an email yesterday for this ID only.

Up the top of the screen, just to the right for the G'day name, is a orange box with a flag and PASSWORD UPDATE in it.. do you have one of those?

I just changed 2 other ID's, they let me sign in the old password, and I have had no email for them.

Saw this message when changing passwords: If you would like to call us, please know our colleagues are especially busy right now assisting other customers and we apologize in advance for making you wait.

When you go to change your password, an email is sent to your registered email account to confirm the changes. Lurker was not receiving the email, which I agree, would be a bit of a worry.

Well, thats how I read it anyway. Im sure someone will be along to shoot me if Im wrong soon enough.

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

My hubby is having the same problem, don't know if he got it sorted or just started from scratch. I only got the email to change my password today, but it hasn't forced me to change it. I'll see what happens when it finally auto logs me out and I have to log back in. I really don't want to change my password, it took me ages to memorise this one!
