Can anyone please recommend which rolls of vacuum bags you use. I have a Eurolab vacuum sealer the bags supplied with it work fantastically they are textured both sides. I recently purchased some from ebay with texture on one side and they just will not seal after been vacuumed.

So, these food vacuum sealer thingies are a good thing then?
Can someone tell me how useful they are and how you use them?
Does it, say, keep meat longer?
Is it the Masterchef sous vide type of cooking?
And is it expensive? <<<< that bit is paramount BTW
Please expline

Hi Stawks, I just use it when I buy stuff in bulk then repack it in meals. I buy bulk cheese, meat etc, portion it up into meals it reduces freezer burn, you can throw it in the microwave or as you say a water bath
Even good for thing like when you only use half an avocado and then you wrap the other half up and it goes brown, using the vacuum sealer it doesn't and stays really fresh.
this is mine http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Eurolab-Vaccum-Sealer-Food-22x30cm-Vacuum-Bags-10-Pack-110-watt-/1816...
$15.00 cheaper on their website though

Thanks for the info, harley. Freezer burn drives me nuts!
Just turfed out a lot of stuff from the freezer - that really hurt!
Brain not at full capacity right now, but will study it later.
