A group of young priests in Italy have thrown tradition to the wind and posed for a calendar that reportedly aims to inform people about the Vatican.
The 12-page document contains black and white images of smiling seminarians in various locations in Rome as well as a few pages of information about the Catholic church.
Photographer Piero Pazzi, who put together the calendar, said the men are all real priests and none had been paid for their modelling.
"I meet most of them on the streets in Rome and ask to take their photos," he said.
"Most are happy to be photographed after I tell them the reason for the calendar."
"Yes, the men are good-looking, but it is just a product, a way for people to be better informed about the Vatican".
Mr Pazzi, who launched the calendar in 2003, said priests from all over the world are welcome to take part in the calendar but add they will need to travel to Rome to be photographed.

Is nothing sacred anymore? I'm not a practising Christian and certainly not Catholic, but this is not becoming for the Church IMO!
This is surely the work of the devil!
Mr Pazzi! Is that a nom de plume of Lucifer?
Short for papparazzi?
So which one do you like best?

Different religious beliefs are bitter and twisted. Can't get away from that.
But to get back to the topic, I predict that the "Hot Priest" calendar will be very popular in the Vatican.

That's rather a sweeping statement isn't it?

choosing to live in celibacy is not a new concept for ordained buddhist nuns, monks or catholic nuns and priests. it is also practiced in hinduism. celibacy has secular origin. i really dont understand why people find the concept funny
I find it funny, because it rarely happens

I agree about the tongue in cheek humour though.
