Good morning Stringsters
Heartwarming to read your words Nics 🙂
Flashie, please re-tell your family to be extra careful. I don't know why these storms seem different but they are. When we had them in the last week or so, every day there were a few people struck by lightning. Either there were more or the news just reported them and had never before.
We managed a few days of sunshine here but it is going to rain again today. I still don't have foxtel. They blame Telstra's cabeling and Telstra blame the foxtel equipment. Of the several phone calls we have had to make because we are promised attendance and no one comes, we estimate we have been on the phone for 11.5 hours for a total talking time of around 20 minutes. After a two hour wait, 5 minute phone conversation with some one on the other side of the world who had us holding for that time, they said to hang up and the would phone us back when someone was available.....no return phone call. Ombudsman time I think.
Oh, and to rub salt into the wound, we got an email after hanging up, asking if we were happy with the resolution of our problem and would we mind doing a survey!!!!!
As this has been an ongoing problem since February and the fourth time we have been without phone services with various supposed solutions and many revelations of incompetence and/or lies.........Ombudsman time I think.
Have a great day everyone

Prim I sympathise with you and know exactly where you are coming from..if the shoe was on the other foot and they were chasing money from you they would be in contact with you very quickly..ditto if you were looking to change carriers too..couldn`t be too helpful!!
Enjoy your day everyone dreaded grocery shopping this morning and later going to see Maya`s Christmas party located in the local park..I`m just hoping the weather stays fine as I think rain/thunderstorms might be on the way...

Good morning Friends ![]()
Nics - age is no barrier that wonderful feeling of butterflies ........ enjoy them. I know I still do.
Here is a selection for you to keep your heart fluttering
Prim - hope you get your Foxtel sorted soon ..... tennis time coming up! Congratulations to your GD on her results - she has done particularly well despite such difficult circumstances. She is a real treasure.
Yesterday I relaxed at the hairdressers - did me a power of good.
Today we don't have much planned and will just take it as it comes. One thing I do know is that we are staying away from the shops .... will leave those to you Deb. A BBQ with neighbours tonight which will be enjoyable.
Flashie - Prim is right - make sure your kin take care with those thunderstorms ..... and you and OH of course.

Morning everyone.
Prim, I feel for you. Trying to deal with any company when Telstra is involved is difficult.
Nics, it's very nice to see you so happy and enjoying life. Good for you!
Not much on the cards today. I have a mountain of washing to do. What fun.

hehehe that's a lot of butterflies Laney, I'm sure Nic will make good use of them
It's starting to cloud over a bit here, hope any rain holds off until after the party
I also agree that telstra are the most terrible communicators

Well, I was on the phone from 8am until 12.14pm (mobile phone). I was again put through to several people, Mary, Gel, Daniel, Ruby, Suzan, Wahded, Daniel, one after the other with half hour of musak in between, all of whom struggled with English except the last, and all of whom said they understood the problem but then put me through to the next wrong person. I was told lies, I was shoved sideways and received no satisfaction or assurance my problem will be fixed but they all spoke in even, moderated tones of bulldust assurance.
I quoted job numbers I have been given, only to be told they didn't exist. I was given assurances which were the exact assurances I have been given daily since 4th December and none of them have been carried out. I stood my ground, my stress levels went up, I made demands......I got nowhere.
OH phoned telstra complaints dept. while I was on the mobile only to be told by the girl that she agreed I was being treated inappropriately and she knew this because when she had a similar issue, she had the exact same treatment and went around in circles too. She said she would phone us back, she has not. If someone in their own complaints department can't fix it for themselves, what hope do I have.
We know it is faulty cabling in the telstra pit outside because it was tested by the foxtel guy as only working at half strength and though we can get phone calls the signal is so poor, it is not strong enough to run foxtel.
Foxtel say they are not allowed to touch telstra cabling in order to fix our problem and telstra don't feel a need to fix it because we can still receive phone calls and they don't care about foxtel. When I phone telstra to make a stand alone maintenance request, they keep putting me back to foxtel, who tell me lies and after 4 hours assure me they have arranged for telstra to come and fix it, but they never come.
Let this be a warning to anyone considering using these companies.

There is only one way to overcome a Telstra problem.
You have to move house.

Prim............I would be annoyed too...........what a run around.
We have had trouble in the past with Foxtel................ours worked out to be the weather had moved the dish on the roof a tad and it was not picking up the signal properly.
We had to do a bit of grumbling to get things sorted too................but nothing like you are having to do.
I took hubby clothes shopping today......................because he has lost weight he needed some new trousers and shirts................why do men find clothes shopping so hard.................
................and when did Levi get so expensive.
Last day of school here................I will have babysitting duties for the next six weeks...............just as well my job is a flexible one...........although things are usually quiet over Christmas................(as long as we don;t have anymore hail/thunder storms like this week that is.)
I did our sons Christmas shopping for him while we were in town...............his idea of shopping is getting out the money and leaving me a note on the table of who to buy for..............yet the other son prides himself on picking really good gifts that shows he really knows the person he is buying for.
I got our eldest granddaughter a Smiggles voucher.............gee they have some great stationary in there.......perfect for pre-teens.
