Hi folks.
Flashie ROFL at your story. We visited Port Arthur a few years ago - a very sad place, but strangely beautiful too. Maybe it is because ir is in ruins, but I had the sensation the that although such terrible things happened there, in the convict days time has healed them, those who suffered are at peace, and there is noone left to remember the pain and grieve for them.
For the survivors and families of those killed by Martin Bryant it is, of course quite a different matter - it will be a long time before the pain from that is healed.

We went there years ago, before they built the big entrance. I remember going on a small cruise to the Isle of the Dead, but we couldnt get off the boat

Evening folks
Didn't get back the other night - looks like I have a bit of catching up to do.
TGSE whilst it is fantastic to have kin and friends visit and stay, it is also nice when you get your space back lol
Flashie it sounds like you had a perfectly super weekend away. It is an enigmatic place, even more so since the 28 April events. The Isle of the Dead sent shivers down my spine as the lack of headstones for so many made me feel quite uncomfortable with each footstep I took.
Deb - glad you had some sunshine today. We did too but thunderstorms predicted tomorrow night and Friday. Made the most of the lovely day and did some pruning for a green waste collection coming up soon .... very satisfying.
Talked to the sweet peas that are poking their heads up now .... need to get some bamboo sticks tomorrow to train them up ..... they are not far from our back door and I am looking forward to their lovely perfume. Nasturtiums taking over in the citrus garden and lemon tree bowed down with fruit. Picked a box full and put it out on the verge for people to take - seems such a waste not to share them around.

morning everyone
I wish I had a lemon tree Laney, but I have no room to plant anything else

Morning Deb
Caffeine intake raised energy level so now its off to the nursery to have a browse and get the bamboo sticks for some creative architecture for the sweet peas lol
Lovely sunny morning but given the forecast for storms tonight want to be out and about in it whilst we can.
Every home should have a lemon tree Deb! I recall, when looking at real estate for sale here, a healthy lemon tree was often used as an incentive to buy even to the extent of including a picture of one - funny hey!
Our mandarin and orange trees produced nothing this season (poor starving rats) as the tipuana trees are causing them to be in too much shade ...... tree lopping coming up.
Have a good day Deb. Catch up later

every time I go to Mum and Dad's place I nick a few lemons and I have some neighbours who give me some limes from their tree, so I'm pretty lucky really . no quite the same as having your own trees though. I envy you there Laney
not too bad a day here either Laney, at least the sun was out

Morning Deb
Got sidetracked yesterday
Got the bamboo stakes and they are now in place - ready for the sweet peas to run up them lol
No storms arrived through the night but expecting them through the day.
Was planning on staying home to work today but a couple of folks feeling below par this morning so heading into the office. Hate leaving LL on her own during storms but her hearing is not as good as it once was, so hoping she might not sense or even hear the thunder and she will remain asleep.
May sunshine fill your day and you enjoy whatever you are up to
Catch up tonight or over weekend
