Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

"Round Table Revisited" (RTR)

Re: Round Table Revisited

Laney.............I am a no team supporter.

Hubby supports Melbourne first.............but has a soft spot for Hawthorn because his Uncle played for them many years ago.

Got the paper work done just in time...............just!

And I bet next month I will do the same again...........leave it until the last minute.

After my meeting tonight we took our grandson Pokemon hunting...............we were in town and he found a rare one................and his phone went dead before he could catch him.............he was so upset.

Evening Ladies Smiley Happy

Prim was mentioned in despatches this afternoon when I caught up with a friend up in Freo for the day Smiley Wink

We were having coffee at Dome on the river and I was remembering an enjoyable visit to Zephyr with Prim - too long ago Smiley Sad

An enjoyable couple of hours after a very productive day .... some exciting things in the pipeline.

Home with feet up now and radio on listening to one of our favourite broadcasters.  Sad that he has decided to retire at the beginning of next month after 25 years presenting the Nightlife on the ABC.  Will have to rely on Richard Fiedler for great interviews now.

Thanks friend - enjoyed the catch up Smiley Happy

Deb how is your Dad's arthritis .... has he managed to get some relief?  The cold weather certainly would not have helped.

Re: Round Table Revisited

morning all 🙂

Laney we listen to him too , Tony someone... best talkback radio,  We were wondering if there's really something else behind his leaving.. It will be a shame to see him go

Dad had a calcium drip in the hospital for his osteoporosis, and is going on some heavy duty narcotic patches to relieve his pain.. I said to  mum , keep an eye on him with driving and everything, he'll be off with the fairies, she just laughed

he's too old for knee surgery, so they're finding alternatives for him.. Thanks for asking Laney

Re: Round Table Revisited

Afternoon folks (or evening as the case may be) Smiley Happy

Tony Delroy Deb.  I do not think there is anything 'behind' his leaving - simply that, like us all, he is getting older and having completed 26 years on the one programme (and the awful hours he does) his decided it was time to move on.  Shame but I can understand it.

Does your Mum already think your Dad is off with the fairies Smiley LOL

Not a bad way to be when you look at the world today!

Hope those patches help his pain management.

I was checked the broadcast time for RIO just now and horror of horrors - it starts at 4.00am here!!!!!   Arrrrrgh - at least the opening ceremony might be over if I have to head into the office lol

An early night for us here tonight.

Flashie I gave the Olympics some more thought today - gymnastics, diving and equestrian interest me so I guess we will be tuning in more than I previously thought.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Good morning Stringsters

It has been a 'bit of a week' here as some of you are aware. To add to the stress, the Australian press seem to think they can take words spoken to one person in one type of media and print them up as if a personal interview has taken place. That did not happen.

I feel quite ashamed of those in Government at the moment, disgraceful! Still waiting for an apology.

We will continue to keep positive and put this behind us. It is the only way to handle it.

The Opening Ceremony starts here around 9am and we will watch it. I love all the events. The athletes take chunks out of their lives to be the best they can and also to participate in the Olympics so I like to see as much of it as I can.  I have many great memories from previous Olympics and I hope I acquire a few more from Rio.

Sorry about your dad Deb. A young doctor told me a little while ago that no one ever has to live in pain these days, so I hope they can help your dad. Years ago they were putting a special compound behind the kneecap to help with the pain of arthritis, I wonder if they still do that now. I hope your dad has had a second opinion.

It must be Birthday time in the Flashie household. Enjoy 🙂

Laney, I have tried to phone, as any email would be too long for you to read but I am having trouble catching you at home. Dirty stop-out.

Nics, I hope you are ok.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Waves to the MIAs

Re: Round Table Revisited

oh Prim... thanks for posting here, so sorry I missed you. I had one of those 3am nights lights and just got up as i really needed a bit of a sleep in..

yes, we aware.. it's unreal! and just totally shocked really

it's cemented my view that the press can't be trusted with the truth, they way they twist things

We will continue to keep positive and put this behind us. It is the only way to handle it.

( a good attitidue and so very brave)

and everyone passes the buck, no-one will take responsibility...  anyway won't say any more except you're in our thoughts

I must admit due to my late night out.. I forgot all about the opening ceremony, but I should be able to catch a replay sometime

Dad is in his mid 80's Prim,,,

Re: Round Table Revisited

Prim.............you have been in my thoughts this week.

Yes..............it is the start of the mad birthday season here.

I forgot hubby had not had a chance to  paint the cradle he made for our grand daughter...........so in between getting things ready for our daughters party I had to paint it................bright pink.

I will try to get a picture it finished tomorrow..............it is out in the gazebo drying.......and it is too darn cold to go out there now.

Hubby was very happy Melbourne won today............yet he did not tip them in this weeks tipping competition...........but our eldest son did..........so he is looking good for the 50.00 this week......(and the stingy devil will put it in his bank too)

Re: Round Table Revisited

Good evening Stringers Smiley Happy

So pleased you posted Prim - you know you are in our thoughts constantly.  Sorry if you get the answering machine and give up - don't stress about lack of contact .... ESP works Heart

~~~~ Flashie and Deb and of course our MIAs ~~~~
Best laid plans of getting up at 4am went awry - I turned the alarm off Smiley Frustrated
We have been catching up on a bit of RIO since I got home - that Olympic flame was AMAZING!  Such colour and movement in the opening ceremony too.
Trying, unsuccessfully, to find a decent schedule of events so we don't miss out on our particular interests - tonight has been a bit hit and miss.
Bit damp here at the moment (understatement) and feeling concerned for some friends who have planned their wedding tomorrow ..... on the beach Smiley Sad
Big Derby here tomorrow which we will not be watching - probably a good thing as we are all Dockers fans lol
Hope the cradle dries in your cold weather Flashie Smiley Surprised
