Hi Deb
I know how you used to enjoy going out on the boat on NYE and you obviously do miss it
I hesitate to ask about the 'memorable' alternative firework viewing place but in my mind's eye I can imagine
We are just home - it is still around 30 here and after work decided to cool off with a swim at the beach .... it was divine.
Ended up having fish and chips down at Fishing Boat Harbour. Easy peasey!
A perfect way to end the week or start the weekend.
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend planned and that you start to get some of this warm weather

Hi Laney.. its still cold here.. unreal for this time of year.
last NYE was funny. we all went to the tallest building in the suburb and saw the year in with a bunch of PSO's who like us were trying to see the fireworks LOL
balmy WA days you're having by the sounds it

Actually Deb the hotter it is the quieter it is.
A lot of places out this way close down over summer as it gets too hot to travel in the outback.
We are super busy from Easter till start of November when all the grey nomads are touring.
Years ago when there was no TV or air conditioners on the stations they would all come in to cool down and get cold drinks and watch TV.
These days with solar and satellite TV (which we have as there is no regular TV here) they stay home and only come in once a week for supplies.
But it is so good in the outback and the more remote the better ๐

It is the coldest place in winter and the hottest in summer in SA
It ranges from -10 in winter to 53 in summer.
But generally once the summer hits it is between 32 to 48 most of the time and still hot at night.
It is a dry heat most of the time so lots better than the humidity we get some times.
