Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

"Round Table Revisited" (RTR)

Re: Round Table Revisited

Yesterday was beautiful and sunny here and it looks like today is going to be similar.

We went to a fneral yesterday for an old friend who died recently aged 88. He had no family hereand as Mr elephant was down as his contact person,  so the funeral directors asked us to arrange the funeral - well not arrange exactly, but let them know what we thought he would lke in the way of service, music, flowers etc.

He had lived for some years in a nursing home in a town over an hour's drive from here, and originally we were going to have his funeral there, but then the funeral director discovered that when his wife died some years ago she was cremated here in Bunbury and he had bought a double plot so when he died their ashes could lie side by side.

Cue swift change of plan!  But it all went well and he had a nice little send of with several of his former parishioners turning out to farewell him.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Gosh, golly, gee you folks have been busy - and here were you probably thinking I was AWOL!  I can assure you I was gainfully 'employed' most of the time - except for yesterday when I took the day off to have lunch with friends up in the Hills.  A perfect day it was too and despite some smoke from burning off - it really was a deliciously summery day.

Good to see you home safely Deb - thought of you in that thunderstorm as I knew where you were ........ surprised you did not see our Royal visitors as you were not too far from the Invictus opening ceremony I don't think.  Perhaps you were otherwise occupied in Darling Harbour Smiley Wink as I see you did not do much shopping Smiley LOL  I see their landing was aborted coming into Sydney this afternoon - gave them a second look at the harbour though ........

Freddie I have been keeping tabs on your dear old neighbour's progress - she sounds like a real trooper and sad to think she will be sent to a nursing home ....... I am sure you and Mr F will miss her and she you as you have been a great neighbour for her.  I have been reading about your early morning constitutionals too - keep it up girlfriend - you put me to shame lol.

TGSE your friend knew well what he was doing when he nominated your OH as his contact.  He would well have known he could rely on both of you to do whatever was necessary when the time came. Heart

Seems the house building race continues for you both Sandy and oaks - exciting times but also quite stressful with the delays, the decision making re colours, light fittings, fixtures and furniture.  Don't think I could do all that these days - not sure I would have the patience lol.

Health ups and downs for you both but seems like everything is heading in the right direction at least.  I enjoy reading your newsy posts so keep up the good work lol

We have been engrossed in the Invictus Games and will be sad to see them finished.  The competitors must experience a sense of disappointment too as they head back to their home countries and have to say goodbye to the new friends they have made.  They really have been wonderful though and we have indeed been fortunate to have such good coverage.

Magic summer weekend here - Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday and all the attendant festivities and fireworks.

Will catch up over the weekend and hope you have not been bored by my post Smiley Happy

Re: Round Table Revisited

Good afternoon to my friends Smiley Happy

A day of mixed emotions today.  The Blessing of the Fleet parade was held here in Freo today and now we are bracing ourselves for the fireworks tonight.

Watched the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games last night - really wonderful sense of friendship and fellowship there - crowned by Harry and Meghan's individual speeches.

Sadness at the passing of Richard Gill - he certainly was one of a kind and introduced music to so many with enthusiasm and humour.

Vale Richard Gill

Saddened to read your posts Freddie about your dear neighbour's deteriorating condition - may she pass gently and be remembered with love.

I hope you have all had happy and healthy weekends.  Now preparing for work tomorrow so better get organised.

Re: Round Table Revisited

BOO!!!!!!!

Trick or treat Smiley LOL

Contrary to the thoughts of some, I have NOT been out haunting houses .............. could not say the same for some others though Smiley Wink

So much for retirement or semi-retirement!  I was working today and will be for the balance of the week.  We DID however manage to rid the back yard of tigers (they were a serious risk given the way the grass had grown) when I got home.

I will try and catch up tomorrow ..... an early pinch and a punch (making the most of the time difference and getting in early)

Behave, be well and be happy my friends ..... you are irreplaceable.
