Good afternoon Stringers ![]()
Flashie - hope you enjoy your evening ..... will look forward to hearing about it.
I am with you j*oono when it comes to sausages - charred on the barbie suits me just fine. The only alternatives are those we get from Elmars on occasions but I would not curry them anyway.
Hope your day is really, really good Prim

Hi Laney. I'm hoping so too.
Flashie if you are around, I said something really dumb the other day. If John Edwards were to pick you out of the audience it would be excellent as you are such a good historian and genealogist. Sorry for my dumb stupid remark.
I am slightly jealous too. I'm not sure I believe he can do what he says but I sure did love watching his shows when it was on tv.

Hi j*oono - I have never seen him so will just have to wait for a full report from Flashie lol
I am a bit of a sceptic about that sort of thing but if it gives some folks some comfort, who am I to criticise?
Did you get the car issues sorted out for your son?
on โ12-11-2014 04:40 PM
No, not yet but we are getting there. He had to take his car over the pits to get it reregistered. It's all been a sorry mess but with him moving in with friends and now coming back home and not getting all his mail and with his operation and recovery somehow his cars rego expired and it was more than three months ago.
Long story but if you ever want new tyres and you make it very clear to the tyre place that they must pass a pits inspection and they assure you that they haven't got the size ordered but will give you a good deal on rims and tyres which they assure him will pass inspection then don't go to the place near Maddington shopping centre.
$1600 worth and the inspector says they are too large. I think they are 20 inch and they won't pass more than 19.
Now it means a (temporary) tyre and rims swap and one other minor problem which won't cost much to fix and it has to have another minor inspection. It has been a huge worry to me and I think I have gone a bit greyer.

Do you have any recourse with the tyre place j*oono?
With the temporary fix, does that mean he will put back the new ones after the inspection?
Would that not invalidate his insurance if the size does not accord with the registration requirements?
Had forgotten all about his operation ..... I take it he is now fully recovered! What a difficult time for you all though and then this kerfuffle with his rego

He still has to go to Silverchain clinic every day. It is healing but what a slow process. It hasn't been a good year for him.
I shouldn't tell you this Laney, but that is what the inspector suggested. I am so annoyed because the tyre place also kept his old rims which were worth a bit of money. He thought they had put them in the boot. When he asked where they were yesterday they just said that they were part of the deal! Apparently the new wheels were a very good price so maybe, who knows and my son got it wrong.

Oh dear ![]()
I missed 'corduroy appreciation day' yesterday! I guess we can still celebrate it today though, given the time differences.
Where would we be without having the ABC to inform us ![]()
A quick google revealed more:

Every day!!!!!
Here was I 'assuming' it was all 'behind' him

Trouble is, if you were not there for the whole transaction (re the tyres) it is difficult to take them to task.
I would still be checking on the insurance issue just to be on the safe side - and do it anonymously.

Good idea Laney. I will look into it.
