I think the Russian Federation action is unlikely to have any real effect upon us IF.

Having checked the Australian Bureau of Agricultural figures for 2013, I see that out of  $37.972 billion in agricultural exports, only $321 million of them went to the Russian Federation (0.84%).

I think the action is more for home/media consumption.

Truth is, I think global politics as in the grip the likes of  George Soros and  Alan Greenspan and the IMF have on individual nations make it hard for any country to retain sovereignty.

I m not really sure why did we, or anybody else really protest the annexation of Crimea.  There was an election, and something like 90% of people voted for it.  Which is not surprising as vast majority are Russians, an Crimea was part of Russia for most of the modern history:

"The modern history of Crimea begins with the annexation by the Russian Empire in 1783. In 1921 the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was created. This republic was dissolved in 1945, and the Crimea became a province first of the Russian SSR (1945-1954) and then the Ukrainian SSR (1954-1991). Since 1991 it has had the status of an Autonomous Republic within Ukraine until its annexation by the Russian Federation in the 2014 Crimean Crisis."

Eastern Ukraine is a different story, Russians are only about 1/5 of population.
