The intent was for the sandwich to hit the PM, just because the thrower had bad aim doesn't mean they didn't intend it to hit her. She said she didn't see it flying through the air, but saw 1/2 sandwich on the ground.
Yes, the media did focus on that 1 incident instead of the rest of the visit which was a success.
While speaking to students a sandwich was hurled in the direction of Ms Gillard, flying past her and hitting another student.
A teacher declared Kyle was the one who threw it and he was subsequently suspended for 15 days.
But Kyle has denied the allegations, instead claiming he tried to stop another student from throwing the sandwich.
"I hit the sandwich out of the kid's hand because he threw it," he told Channel 9.
"There was another one, so I hit it out of his hand."
Kyle Thomson, 16, has been suspended for 15 days after being blamed for throwing the sandwich as an otherwise friendly group of students mobbed the PM.

the sandwich was thrown sideways and not forwards toward the PM as clearly seen in the video

I think we can safely say it was just deflection.......

Looks that way.... for some reason the reason she was there has been ignored. Was it a Gonski or NDIS related visit?
No! I just reread the article and at the very end it says she was there for the Biggest Morning Tea. Is that raising funds for cancer research?
Not news worthy if the PM attends community fund raising events. Are they afraid if they stop attacking her people might see her substance and policy?

Julia should have opened her mouth and gobbled it up, she always looks like she's hungry...or constipated, not sure which

He smiled and Tossed Her A Vegemite Sandwich

i agree with twinkles. The sandwich was not even thrown in her direction. It was thrown sideways, not anywhere near her direction
the kid claims to have knocked it out of another kids hand as he threw.
The PM isn't the one making news out of this instead of what her visit was about. Looks like whatever she does as PM is trivialised by a press intent on reminding us everyday that they hate her and we should too.

I hope it was a cucumber sandwich and not common vegemite.....

You are not actually given the laptop... you have to hire it out at our school.. costs me $150 per year.. and we give it back when he leaves..
So after all the kids leave they're left with a cache of outdated lap tops?
What happens to them once they're handed back?
I'm not having a go, but just curious at what the school plans on doing with lap tops that are 2-4 years out of date
