Do you think it is about time eBay had a close look at "Report Button Abuse"?
Some posts that have 'earned' slaps have been for smilies, words like, ..it, common denominator, maturity, Ranga, befuddlement...... and the list goes on and on.
I am sure everyone can add a few of there own that have been slapped, not because they violated board policy but because someone was bored and thought it was "fun" to press the button.

Unfortunately this game is more complex and convoluted than most realise. Often it is not the one you suspect doing the damage. There are wheels within wheels at play.
From past experience I can say that on every forum there are several groups that take great delight in trying to cause as much disruption and friction between members and groups as they can for no other reason but their own perverted pleasure.
They attempt to set member against member by reporting both of them. The ones being reported blame their opponent and so a feud develops between them and escalates until there is only one left standing. This is the source of delight for the instigator.
Knowing that this behaviour goes undetected the instigator is safe from any reprisal and continues cause havoc.
Fortunately on most fora this is detected and addressed but unfortunately that is not the case on this forum.
I feel that the situation can be rectified if posters individual bring it to the attention of the moderators an eBay.
We can but live in hope that eBay take note of members concerns

Lets keep this topical, If you are one of the ones who get constantly reported for no violation then please appeal it and don't let this go off the front page. It also acts as an indicator of who are ridiculing the most 🙂
If you have some time to spend , when bored, just have a look at the detractors on this thread 🙂
Draw your own conclusions

I've never understood why people would want to work hard for no pay doing what the board moderators are paid to do. let's all help keep the board mods employed and stop interfering in their jobs.
Same reason I don't use self serve scanners at supermarkets. I don't want to be the cause however slight, of others losing their jobs.
If the sort of behaviour which poddster describes goes on in here, then you should hang your heads in shame, those responsible.

Some people go to church religiously every Sunday and ask forgiveness for behaving atrociously the previous week.

I love the self serve checkout but I always have to ask for help from the staff member on patrol.
It's never going to get rid of checkouts. It's only for when you could normally go to the 8 items or less checkout and there is always someone to help you when you need it.
Poddster, you described yourself so beautifully.

I was reported the last time I posted. no reason for it but I still got the slap. If that's the way it is on here it's bit sad really, it used to be fun once.
