....picked up by my new Dr. On supplements now, got to have a bone density test next time I see him.
I have been so careful to eat right, plenty of vit B rich foods and A and C and E etc. I regularly eat fresh fish and canned fish like sardines and eat egg yolks.BUT I think my problem was that I have been sun 'shy' for many years as have pale skin and tried to avoid sunburn/skin cancer etc.
Darker pigmented people and elderly need to stay in sun longer than fair skinned people to get the vit D.
According to Dr G I should be getting 6 mins in the sun ev day in summer and 28 minutes or so, ev day in winter.
Chemist girls told me that they are seeing a lot of women and young teen girls with same .....getting Vit D supplements. Was told by pathology girl that Vit D oil is better absorbed by our bodies than in capsule form but have caps as prescribed
Is this something recent that is being discovered in 'plague' proportions? Anyone know?
Apparently signs and symptoms are similar to depression and that thing called SAD.
Well I was certainly experiencing a lot of muscular pain and inner bone pains for a few years.
Thank goodness my new Dr has picked this up......could have been on my way to getting ruddy ricketts!
seriously!

But Aps, you're only a baby yet.
Two non related family members who died from too-late-diagnozed melanoma, were in their 70s.
Given, they may have had a gene imbalance.

My children and I have spent long days outdoors when we lived close to the beach, and then again when we lived in Central Australia. No slip, slap. slop in those days, and none of my children has any form of skin cancer. Ages 51 to 61 now. But then we ate healthy and unadulterated food in those days.

Your children have a future of 30 years. Those are the years when the BCCs and SCCs will appear. An annual check by a dermatologist (not one of those $ clinics) is necessary to avoid losing bits of faces.

The other aspect is, are we finding more because we are looking for them more - it has occurred in a number of deseases.
In the past, people died and well, that was it.
Now if they do die from it, we know. In the past we didn't.
Have GM foods been around for long enough to have an effect ?
GM foods come in, we spend less time outside yet cancers are ? increasing ?
I worry about the kids now, some don't see daylight for a few days, playing computer games non stop.
These kids don't get exposed, what happens when they are.
I saw one the other day, walked up to the major shops, came back red as a beetroot on his neck.

That's true, Aps. It appeared most people died of heart failure or "old age".
15 years ago when our children were getting far bigger and taller than my generation, there was blame put on "chickens being injected with growth hormones". I wonder now........

Some truth in that.
Being ex military of some sort, they have data going back years.
Look at WWII people compared to now in terms of size, weight.

The problem with weight gain is that people are bombarded with food ads 24/7. And they stuff their faces with snacks, which despite being marketed as healthy, are full of fat and sugar. As a kid we had a cake on Sunday and soft drink once or twice a year when we went somewhere for trip. We took to school an apple and cheese sandwich. Now kids get lunchbox full of processed junk. Various hormones in our meat is a worry, but so is our overall consumption of meat. But pollution in air is something we cannot avoid.

I'm finding Chia seeds are good for filling me up and making me feel less hungry.
Still need to overcome the habit of always eating !!! LOL

re Yes there must be something going on re. chemical toxicity. Cannot think of anything else to be honest

I have been under a lot of stress for quite a few years, not so much now, perhaps this 'stress' added to the result of severe vitamin D deficienecy?

- skin cancers account for around 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers
- between 95 and 99% of skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun
- GPs have over 1 million patient consultations per year for skin cancer
- the incidence of skin cancer is one of the highest in the world, two to three times the rates in Canada, the US and the UK.
am also sceptical of the vitamin tablet industry, a lot of the big names don't have enough of whatever it is they are flogging to have any effect .
It could be that people were not tested for these deficiencies as much in the past and just put a lot more of the "physical feeling offish" down to age.

Had my 15 year old daughter tested for Vitamin D levels and a few other things....she eats a very good diet. Dr surgery 'called' advising us to go in for an appt, to get results via a consult ......going in to get results in the morning.
Will let you know here in this thread, if a Vit D deficiency has been picked up. I guess then people might blame our diet. I assure you all though that we have a friend who regularly goes fishing and we often eat fresh fish. Kids drink/consume fresh milk, eat cheese regluarly and whole yoghurt..............sunscreen might be the prob as daughter has fair skin and does not go out without applying it.
We will see what is result and advice.
