The thread has shrunk, unpick and restitch using polyester thread.

That's what I first thought az, but it's still the same after I unpicked it and sewed it again.

Ok then. This is is obviously a photo of me standing on my head wearing said skirt
Mmm, how frustrating for you.
It looks like the stitches are too tight for the fabric.
I've discovered that if I stretch the fabric with my hand as it goes through machine it can help. Is the overlocking tight too?

My pc is behaving oddly and deleting my comments.
Use a longer stitch length and a newer sharp needle.

The weird thing is, if I showed you the under side it is not puckered at all. I think the fabric has been damaged somehow. I don't really think it is my sewing technique.

Do the stitches look even on both sides? It could be a tension adjustment issue.

I don't think so. It looks almost exactly the same as before I did anything.

I did stitch from the underside.
Anyway, I don't think its worth too much angst. Maybe I'll just turn it into an excuse to go shopping

Has it had much wear?
Yeah, shopping for a replacement sounds good when all else fails.
