Shamed into losing 45 kg

On what should've been a carefree trip to a theme park with friends, Nicole felt so much shame that it spurred the obese young woman to change things for the better.

It took three staff members to help jam her oversized figure into a roller-coaster seat. She was so humiliated that she didn't go on any other rides that day.

Now aged 23 and happily married to husband Jay, she has overhauled her bad habits, especially her diet.

"I used to have a few rounds of white toast with full-fat butter for breakfast. Now it's still toast, but wholemeal bread with cereals as well," she says.

Nicole says she had no confidence as a bigger woman and hated shopping for clothes.

She also had to go to the emergency room twice because her mass affected her breathing, which led to panic attacks.

But now she says her confidence is restored ... and she's not afraid to visit a theme park.

"After what happened at the theme park, I was so proud to be able to go scuba diving. I now feel amazing compared to what I used to be like and I'm so pleased with the achievement," she says.

So what's the moral of the Story?

doesn't God like fat people? Why doesn't God provide signs to other fat people?

He does but some of us try to ignore those signs.

So fat people are more likely to ignore God. So Fat people are more likely to go to hell?

Thank you to all for the nice words. I shall now have a quiet drink and promise not to make jokes about God any more (even though I think He/She doesn't really mind).

People have a tendency to take posts at face value - we really do need an 'only joikng' smiley

I thought that was what 'lol' was for.  Not because you really were laughing,

but so as not to offend

I was assaulted recently due to being "too fat".

The police had to become involved and the assault was by a total stranger.

Was that a sign from God? If so why did God deliver his message in such a heavy handed and callous way?

Or is it OK if it spurs me on to lose weight?

I don't want to go into all the details here but the the person was a nutter in a shopping hub in a city and I was targeted because I was the "fattest".

I won't send you a pm because I don't know you so don't know if I could trust you with the details.

I repeat - I was not urging anyone to do/say ANYTHING to overweight people. And to accuse me of believing that ANYONE'S God delivers messages to people about anything via violence, ridicule or abuse is offensive to me. It ranks right up there with "God made AIDS to stop homosexuality".
