Anyone used Amazon? I have been a fair bit lately as I have been ordering food and they dont seem to strike problems when they send it from US which can sometimes occur on Ebay through Australian customs.
Although I did pay for something and there was a big mix up with it and still havent got a straight answer from them, and you cant ring them locally as you can ring Ebay in Australia unless you want to call the USA which would be expensive. Another big drawback.

When you ring the ebay 1800 number you are not talking to staff in Australia.....the call goes directly to the USA and does not cost you anything.

Amazon still uses Australian Customs, Michelle.
Very naive of you to think that they by-pass Customs
You are still responsible for the import, not Amazon.
You don't seem worried that your imports will have an impact on
Tasmania's fragile eco-system
Or the effect of the waste on the pristine wilderness that is unique in the world
A day will come when you are fined for importing your pet food.
And that fine will be very heavy indeed

You don't have to ring them - they'll ring you. I had an issue with my kindle four years ago. Left my number on their website and they rang me within five minutes. Sorted everything out by giving me a new kindle at no cost.
It's been a while but if you go to "Support & Contact Us" you should be able to request a call-back (must be logged in).

I don't know how you can claim to import pet food through Amazon, when they state that they only sell to America.
A company as big as Amazon would be well aware that they cannot ship pet food to Australia.
Their are a myriad different pet foods available locally...and as rats will eat anything you are simply wasting your money.
IF you are indeed importing pet food from overseas, expect a visit from the Federal Police one day...as well as a well deserved substantial fine.

I have used them once, shoped around there a few times. Ebay is easyer and seems to have better deals. I never have bought food over any part of the internet so that might be a whole other bucket of worms.
I have used Craigslist more than anything and it's the only site I sell on when I sell. Hastle free local deals, no have to ship anything. I gotta see if Australia has it,

She's importing very expensive food for her rats. Most of it contains restricted material (fuit, dairy, vegetables, animal byproducts). Yet, she gloats about it on a public forum with impunity. She thinks the rules don't apply to her or her rodents. One day she will get a rude shock...........especially when she sees the size of the fine she has to pay. As usual, she will scream poor and probably end up in gaol because she can't pay the fine. Or she will blame the neighbour who swoops around like a bat stealing her mail.
