Why put security tag things through both sleeves of dresses that make it almost impossible to try the dress on and can also damage the product - fgs there is also a security tag on the side anyway - if shoplifting is a problem EMPLOY MORE STAFF - that is the most effective way to limit theft.
thanks
rant over.

The other thing that really annoys me is brown/orange makeup left on clothes - please either wear less while shopping or don't rub your face all over everything.
I work in a retail chain store (red T) Clothing comes to us already tagged, we have no say in where they go. Boris the makeup stains bother me too. Also the twits who hang clothing inside out and backwards on hangers. I'd rather them not put them on hangers if they are going to do that.
Btw, I can't understand why people don't see the bloody big label that says "please remove before wearing", its right under the label with the care instructions on it!

My Target security tag was down the leg of 7/8 pants. I usually wash new clothes before I wear them, but didn't for this pair so never saw it. The checkout person never mentioned it. Since then I have heard them advising customers to cut the tag off when they get home
It was when I put them in the wash, turned them inside out (black) that I saw the long security tag and had an ah ha moment.. that is what was causing the security beepers to go off.
I really think Target should be able to desensitise the tag, after the item is paid for and before the customer leaves their store.
How long before 'shop lifters' work out they can carry a pair of scissors on and cut out the tags in the changing room? Dump the tags somewhere in the shop and walk out with a tag free garment?
The Tshirt style dress my daughter bought that made the security beepers go off at Chemist Warehouse, didn't have the long security tag on it.
It was definitely that dress that made the beepers go off, as she went back through the security sensors without the dress and it didn't beep.
The security person, with her permission, said he would should her what was making the dress beep, turned it inside out, and couldn't find anything that looked like a security tag.
Customers that buy a clothing item from a Target in a mall (with the soft security tag) then shop in others shops before going home, it sets of the security beepers most stores they go in and out of ... the customer shouldn't really have to put up with that. Target should cut them off at the counter or desensitise them.

Apparently we are able to desensitise the tag, but for some reason (with me anyways) its a hit and miss as to wether it will work or not

The soft ones are improvment on those big heavy plastic ones (as mentioned re leaving holes in fine fabric).
The customer shouldn't be inconvienced though once the item is paid for, by setting off security beepers in other stores when they go in and out.
I bought something from a Linen shop the other day, when I went out it beeped. The lady said don't worry. I asked her to desensitise it to which she said it worked sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. She tried it, and it stopped the beeping.
I don't want to get a reputation for making security beepers going off in multiple stores when I have paid for all my shopping!

This wouldn't be funny now days but ... when I worked in a bank many moons ago.. we had a safe long term deposit service for valuables (for a small fee pa.).
As a practical joke, one customer put an alarm clock in his safe deposit box, set to go off in a few hours time... it was scary hearing that alarm going off and not knowing where it was coming from.
As a new bank employee I was also sent to go down to the opposition bank and ask for a long weight (wait).
After a suitably long wait.. they revealed the joke was on me.

I'm lucky. No security tags on the clothing that I buy.
