There is nothing illegal about being a refugee and seeking asylum.

โ€œIllegalโ€ entrants?

Asylum seekers who arrive in Australia by boat are not acting illegally. The UN Refugee Convention (to which Australia is a signatory) recognises that refugees have a lawful right to enter a country for the purposes of seeking asylum, regardless of how they arrive or whether they hold valid travel or identity documents. The Convention stipulates that what would usually be considered as illegal actions (e.g. entering a country without a visa) should not be treated as illegal if a person is seeking asylum."

Lots of information for you here, lyhargr.

Re: Should They Be Deported?

So you believe that anyone who decides they want to come an live in Au, should just be allowed to walk right in and stay? Well, I dont, charity begins at home and until every single person in Au has a home to call their own and our farmers have been taken care of, I dont believe Au should be accepting any more refugees

bty they have been proven on five occasion NOT to be genuine refugees   ..... which part of this do you not understand?
