as if a muslim has no right to comment on human rights

It's a bit ambiguous -  could even be read as implying the poster does not believe Muslims are human.

How can it be racist? Islam is NOT a race, it's a religion!

Never thought I would see the day I agreed with Ele and Debra, But I do.

I read this thread and think the whole human race. regardless of race or religion is a epic fail.

If you find yourself answering the call of the muezzin at some early hour of the morning there’s a good chance you are a muslim. As you enter the mosque you notice men of Asian appearance. Then a man of African appearance looms into view. There will be a sprinkling of people of Causcasian appearance entering the mosque. There is a possibility that some South Americans will enter the mosque as well. How on earth is being a muslim confined to one particular race?

As you stumble around with your metanoia you might consider that the word racist has lost a lot of its meaning thanks to its misuse. Think about that as you take a sip of the Kool-Aid.

Let's see if you can spell christianophobic when the occasion calls for it.

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

I don't particularly like most religions, it's nothing to do with be "phobic" about anything, surely one can have an opinion without having a "label" shoved on them.

The term " phobic" usually means "to fear", I don't fear them, I just don't like them

It’s Randa Abdel-Fattah's desire to rewrite parts of the Koran with a benign or Panglossian theme dressed up as human rights that amuses me. Sure, go ahead and write Randa. Will she change the opinion of the House of Saud? No.

The Koran starts with: 2:2 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil).

So the Koran is not in need of interpretation, emendation, or addition. The Koran is the immutable word of Allah and handed to muhammed. Immutable means final, unalterable and permanent.

The Koran says: 4:3 Marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four.

Is there a verse in the Koran saying women get to take two, three or four husbands?

The Koran goes on to say: 4:34 Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them”

Is there a clause, passage or verse in the Koran that gives women such an exalted position of dominance over men?

Is there a verse in the Koran that goes something like 434:434 To the female muslim I say this; when 2014 comes around you can rewrite the Koran and you may also reject any parts of the Koran you don’t like.

I’m not aware of any such passage.
