Why do you hate surf lifesavers so much?
Why do you hate surf lifesaves in their club uniforms so much? IE: speedos
Why do you hate speedos so much?
and what does speedos have to do with covering up your face and identity as the burqa does?
and that picture is yet another poor attempt to attack a registerd surf lifesaver in Tony Abbott
Yopu may like to get the truth and the correct story here instead of poor attempts at slander
Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is pictured today after giving a surfing lesson to former refugee Riz Wakil at Manly Beach. Picture: Tim Hunter Source: The Daily Telegraph

Was the womenn wearing a burqa (mesh covering over eyes) or a niqab ( eyes only visible)? If it was the niqab the staff could recognise her by her eyes.
There are mothers at my kids kindy and primary school that wear the full Burqa and the Niqab....which i know i have said on this thread very early on and was pretty much accused of making it up.

I agree and some people seem obsessed about a healthy fit Australian male who is a registered surf life saver in their club uniform, a uniform every other surf life saver wears.
I am also at a total loss as what a surf life saver in speedos has to do with a full body covering as the burqa is and the topic is...
I also dont remember the topic changing to I HATE speedos so any speedos posts would be deemed to be off topic I would think....

How many burqa clad people have you ever seen "roaming around the place"? By your own admission, none.
So to what extent is their presence ever likely to exhaust you? None.
Maybe I am planning on moving to wherever it is that Martini lives.
Also, I do try to think of other people, so just because a situation doesn't affect me, it doesn't mean that I am incapable of considering others who are affected by a particular situation. The question isn't should the burqa be banned in my locality, the question is should the burqa be banned in Australia. The operative word there is "should". The thread is asking our opinions
At the moment, there is are a relatively low percentage of Muslim immigrants, but it is these that are creating the way for what will become the "status quo".
I don't think that we have closed the doors to Muslim immigrants, nor denied them the right to procreate, so it is my belief that in time, the Muslim population will increase just like most of the other immigrant groups have.
I don't tend to be short sighted, I am usually capable of looking at the bigger picture and considering long term effects, and thus, am not only thinking about this specific point in time, but also looking to the future as well.
As for your last reply that I haven't quoted, why wouldn't I want to understand another culture, especially one that is going to be a part of the country in which I live? If no one ever tried to "get their head around" why people think and act the way they do, there would be a lot of philosophers and psychologists out of work.
I believe that everybody has to acknowledge what it is that we don't understand about another culture, especially one which is part of our Country, and then take steps to try and understand it.
You ask me why it is necessary for me to "get my head around it" - what happens if we don't get our heads around the things we don't understand?
