Am I wrong, or is he slurring his speech a bit?   IMO this and his body language indicate that he detoured to the studio via the bar.

Although it doesn't apply to me, but I do know a number of those on the aged pension.......he is proposing that the aged pension be pegged to the inflation rate instead of a percentage of the male wage.

Well, if this happens....the increase in aged pensioners' power,,water, and rates should also be pegged to the inflation rate.

I just hope that the ludicrous parental leave payments are adjusted and at the very least means tested.

Yes that could be the case, I suppose he may have needed some liquid courage to be able to talk such utter nonsense, while almost remaining straight faced. It's a shame that some of our own journalists aren't as direct.

I have not researched this parental leave scheme at all. Can someone please tell me which group of parents will this benefit the most? Will it be compulsory for companies/businesses/bosses to implement this scheme for ALL workers?....and when will this (proposed?) scheme take effect from?

I reckon if this F35 fighter proves to be an outright success (can't see it from here though) Tabbot will take all the kudos for it-am sure labour signed this up on a deal where they had the support of both Liberals and the Greens parties. If it is a dismal failure then he and his cronies will blame labor of course.

What concerns me, you have pointed this out in your opening illustration too, is that this govt is saying on one hand that tthe gazillions of $'s for buying these 100 jet fighters has been allocated in the budget/s.....yet they seem hellbent on using this purchase as an excuse to hammer other just as important ongoing budget areas.

Diabolical and evil economics is at work here. Nothing else and nothing more IMO.
