The funniest thing I got was a lidded plastic wine cup complete with a straw and a litlle bowl.
It had on it "Wine a little, laugh a lot" lol.

From my friends.....small gadgets, books, nicnacs, craft items and stationery.
I gave them similar stuff though thankfully not identical.
What is it about my generation (baby boomers) and stationery? We love the stuff. I've got pens, decorative notebooks (some of which I can't bring myself to use because they are 'too good' LOL), stickers....oh yes, we love stickers!
Aside from other gifts, my mother and i exchanged our traditional ones - I gave her a diary (this year a gardening one) and as always, she gave me the Workmans 365 Cats a Day desk diary.....which I will take to work. Since I can't bring my cat to work a different cat pic a day is the only answer.
There's still one more parcel to arrive soon too, and I fully expect it to be......more stationery.

lol yeah stationery. Been given a lot of that in the past, because I once was a prolific letter-writer, but no-one writes letters on stationery anymore. You either write it on word and insert pics, or you email.
Ppl know I love books so they give me books or dymocks book vouchers. Which is nice, but I'm sad for the money they spend. I can get the same books later at the oppies for a fraction of the price. Very grinchy of me, I know.
Ppl know I collect cat figurines so I get a fair few of those, which are always welcome, though I'm starting to run out of space and have a lot put away in storage at the mo.
Ppl know I love champagne and that's ALWAYS welcome, lol

Love champagne and books here too Icy ๐
hubby gave me a book I had mentioned a few times so that was a pleasing thing after the loss of the bubbles.

Time with family, I managed that with all 5 this year, their spouses and children!
I also received lots of gifts, all special, bought myself some this year too! I only had to exchange 1 child's gift today, one of the buttons fell out of his digital watch.
The biggest things I got were 2 dogs................. 5 days they are here, a staffy and a rotti/staffy.
They are lovely girls but very active... and they think my beds are for dogs white covers and all!

Oh 2 dogs. Such fun. Are they puppies or rescues, Az?
Hubs and I would love a dog and a cat.
Must be a ginger cat we would call it Ranga. Must be a German Shepherd we would call it Schulz.
Such are our fantasies.

Icy, the dogs belong to my son and his family, they are visiting other family for a few days and dogs have to stay here. One is a staffy that was unable to be cared for by her owner a few years ago and the other is a rescue from an animal shelter earlier this year.
I will wave goodbye to them next week! My mini Dachsund is not pleased at the company but tolerating them well, lol.
