While I am reserved about Tony it was /is an event that was very much needed for the good of the country as a whole.

We now have a government that can govern in it's own right without having to pander to other miniority groups/partys.

 well no, we dont.  the senate is something he hasn't control of. when the new senators come in (about a year) he still will have to deal with minor parties in order to get legislation through. he's captive to single issue parties.

Why is it some have already made their mind up that the new government will fail and the minorities are fools? How about staying positive and waiting to see what eventuates.
