Every time my sister split with her ex she'd mysteriously get a midnight prowler and would ask the ex to stay to catch the prowler. Prowling didn't happen on the nights he stayed. Usually he got to stay for weeks at a time. Last time they split I let slip on FB my husband had installed CCTV at the property with motion night vision sensors and a sms alert sent to my phone if it detected a movement. Prowling stopped 😉

I think that it is more likely that somebody (ex, burglar or other) did not gain entry that way ... but that they had already broken into the house and were disturbed by somebody coming home and went through the manhole from inside the house to hide and seek refuge and then became stuck in the roof cavity with people in the house..
So that rather then enter via the hole they frigged about in the roof cavity quietly until they removed enough tiles and exited that way rather than risk being sighted by the houses occupants.

Kylie it's nice you guys have worked out visits between you and both of you are pleased with the arrangement. You guys really should have a parenting agreement drawn up just to cover both of you.

Is the family court the only option to do this? With solicitors etc?
No.
I believe you can do it via mediation. I don't specifically know the ins and outs of it all.
Hopefully someone who has experienced this and not someone simply studying this or Googling will help with the practicalities and their own experience.

Its called a parenting plan and you can do it yourself if you agree. You can call the family law court and get the pack sent out to you. It isn't legally binding but if disputes arise the judge will refer to it if there is issues. You lodge it with the courts and everything and they tell you if there is any issues that need to be rectified. I have one of these with the kids dad, we have always been pretty cool with everything but for us it was more peace of mind that we were on the same wavelength.
There is also the court ordered one... That is decided in court and is if you can't agree. Cant think what that one is tho.
But yeah I recommend getting the pack from the courts. They will send it out and it's very informative.
