I often see them in the op shops and think pffft, what a useless item. As if you couldn't use a saucer or whatever you have at hand while you're cooking. Making bolognese tonight I just rested the spoon on the side of the can.

FOUR SLOTS? An embarrassment of riches but then, come to think of it, my ashtray/spoon rest has four slots too.
Just make sure it is large enough to accommodate four spoon 'bowls' - mine isn't 
Just wondering whether the marble would be prone to absorbing the flavours/colours from the spoons?

Perhaps you would be wise to wait until your preferred spoon rest arrives - but then, since you don't use the ashtray for smoking, I guess it would not matter so much.
Neither would it affect the ability to use it as a missile if the desire ever occurred

It took me many years of reading to unearth the crimes of humanity by the British against the Irish to understand what was done to the Irish. In their own country. Very much what was done to the Aborigines of Australia.
