I often see them in the op shops and think pffft, what a useless item. As if you couldn't use a saucer or whatever you have at hand while you're cooking. Making bolognese tonight I just rested the spoon on the side of the can.

my MIL taught me to put the plug in the bathroom sink, pour a bit of bleach in and leave it to soak for a bit, then it comes up nice an shiny white.
She laughed at me cos I was using a scrubbing brush....

Thanks am*3, you are so right though, this one never gets used with spoon on it, but the others get totally neglected, so I put my spoons either on a dinner plate, or on a bigger spoon ...
