State by State, Australia vs Elsewhere, in the age of COVID-19 and beyond

This thread is for the specific purpose of checking on milestone information (quotations and videos rather than table-form/spreadsheet/database information that fit better into k1ooo's thread), and responses by representatives from our government, CHOs, etc.

It's official: Australia has passed the 70% double dose vaccination rate.

Australia's double-dose vaccination rate has passed 70 per cent of all adults aged 16 and over

It is a key milestone in the national reopening plan.

More than 33 million vaccine doses have been distributed nationwide, and the first-dose rate nationally has reached 85.5 percent.

New South Wales and the ACT have already passed the 80 percent vaccination milestone, and Victoria and Tasmania are expected to reach 70 percent double-dosed within two days.❞

A tremendous achievement, but of course there is still some patchiness. We'll have to see some good efforts to correct misinformation, to provide solid health information, and to take the vaccine to the people who are not able or not willing to access it easily by themselves.

Looking at UK stats , bottom line is one is less likely to die from covid-19 related infection if one is vaxxed , however how much is less likely when one is not likely to die from c.r.i  ?

note SARS Cov comment under "Colostrum" section with background under "F Cov type II . "

Human covid  is part of the same study group - Feline , Human , Porcine

Now as for any impression of over whelming hospital stress , within the State of Victoria ( meaning Melbourne city in context of the pandemic ) there is capacity for 1,600 ICU beds with plans to quickly increase to 4,000 if ever required

https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/as-world-watched-new-york-and-milan-victoria-tripled-icu...

Current patient load is 81 with downward occupancy(?)

While we still having a problem is a puzzle , as the State defeated the virus every time last year , could be much worse ,  so is it reasonable to consider that we are benefiting from the previous harsh society wide mitigations and privations ( although many did very well.... )

Your way of viewing this pandemic is a puzzle. There have been over 1450 Covid-19 related deaths in Victoria. I guess you see them as acceptable casualties of war with this virus that have led to the so called victories? Have you been listening to the latest news reports on the hospital situation? The health staff are starting to take leave in increasing numbers because they are either contracting the virus, concerned about the unacceptable high risk situations or overwhelmed by stress. It's all very well to have up to 4,000 ICU beds, but who are going to deliver the care when the health staff are operating below skeleton numbers?

Well after 2 years of pandemic there has been 5,159,211 survivors within the Melbourne city (AU) covid-colony

I applaud the long suffering Melbourne citizens

But regarding my post reply it was in response  to some media automatic alarm claiming hospital  stress regarding the latest variant

The claim of possible hospital staff being rendered incapacitated is a current UK experience @ -10% but  not relevant here due to different circumstances , environments and mitigation policies , hopefully
