Stealing from hotel rooms - yes or no?

People steal the weirdest things...

I used to take the unused mini shampoo/soap thingies but I travel a lot now so can't be bothered.

You?

Nope.

The stuff is put there for your use during your stay - even the mini shampoos etc.

But people also steal stuff from the restaurants! the silver cutlery, even plates and once someone was caught trying to swipe one of the pictures off the wall in the lobby!

Heaps of flower arrangements go missing too.

The mind boggles at what people swipe LOL

Where my OH works, they have quite distinctive towels for use at the pool. It's unbelievable how many people have the same towels at the gym....

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

I always take one of the little wrapped soaps as a souvenir.

I never take anything else.  I bought one of the lovely white cotton bath robes from a good hotel but I would never steal one.

I once took a cup and saucer from a motel room, must have been over 30 years ago now, and I still have them. and use them 😉

If you ask you shall receive.  I loved the long beer glass that I had my Australia Day shandy in last year.  I asked if they were for sale because they were engraved with the hotel name.  Windsor Hotel in South Perth.  It's a pub, not a hotel you stay in.  Of course they gave me one 🙂

Never take anything...the soap and shampoo are of poor quailty so would never use it.

Been a long time since I have seen silver cutlery used in any resturant including the top ones. Maybe it was all stolen?

Stealing is stealing, doesn't matter where from.  I saw someone loading up from the housekeeping trolley once.  They even took towels.

But the soap, shampoo etc is yours to take.  The owner of the apartment is charged for it anyway.  And in many cases, the venue throws it out in case it has been tampered with.

I usually take the soaps and shampoos to give to the small grandies. I would never take towels etc.
