Can`t remember the last time I experienced such a storm as last night.(Melb) Thankfully no damage done but I was wondering how others fared.

Fair bit of damage out this way (Northern subs)
Felt the house swaying at around 4 am. That was a worry.
SES has been chainsawing trees across the road, lots of branches off trees in the park on the other side of the road.
I have pot plants upended, small branches broken off trees, but I also found our roller door gate has been blown out of it's tracks at the bottom.
That'll cost a pretty penny - unsure if insurance covers it, but the excess is fairly high anyway.

Heaps of tree's down in the area, a couple of roads totally blocked, power out to about 5000 houses.
we just got ours back, but a lot still in darkness.

We had storms last week on the east coast, actually a thunderstorm almost every day, sometimes even after a day of sunshine.
No storms today, but it is hot and humid and I could hardly do anything all day because this weather makes me so tired.

I hope all are OK - sounds as if it was pretty scary.
Hot as here today - Paper - are you getting the wind today??

Bluddy roller door!
The mob that installed it has an emergency number, yeah?
Soonest they can come out is Monday!
With a call out fee of $550 would you believe?
But.........twin grandie #2 'knows a guy' who installs roller doors.
He's calling in on his way home tonight. YAY
No idea what he'll charge, but at least it's not Monday.
The car is stuck in the backyard until it's fixed.
And the insurance excess is $400 anyway.

Yes, it has been quite windy all day!

Terrifying ghostly moans and wild roaring of the wind all nightโฆ lightning and thunderโฆ power out three times during the night, and then at 6 it was out again. Power outage continues and it may not be back on until tomorrow night.
I canโt get the car out - electric doors, and the winds are still too high to open them manually with any degree of safety. Phone charge at 62%โฆ I am recharging with a portable charger but once its juice has gone, I will only be able to recharge by opening garage manually just enough to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning when I start the car and plug in the phone.
Perilous trees at the back fence have only been worsened.
It could have been worse.

Iโm glad that all persons on this thread are safe and well though, and no personal injuries. The rest, will sort itself out.

Well it seems I was lucky not to lose power.
The wind is still gusting out there, but not like it was during the night.
The friend of twin grandie #2 has been and fixed my roller door ๐ and charged me the princely sum of $100 - I'm very happy indeed.
I have his business sticker on the door now and from now on, he gets my business when it needs servicing.
And the other mob wanted $550 just for the call out - and not til Monday? Pfffft
