Streaming Comparisons

On the advice of my children (because I know nothing) we signed up for the netflix free trial

Might rethink our foxtel package

Re: Streaming Comparisons

I am trying to save money and scrape a bit off each month, and invariably would end up adding $12 rather than saving, so not signing up for anything new just yet (even a free trial).

I can't wait to hear everyone's opinions and reviews, though!

Re: Streaming Comparisons

I finally had a look because my son added me as an account holder on his.  Wow!  Goodbye Foxtel, not that we even had that.

I feel very sorry for video shop owners and even sellers on ebay of videos.  Bye bye to them too.

People can stop putting those satellite dishes on their roof.

Not necessarily...........for example, how likely is it that "Age of Consent", where a nubile Helen Mirren prances around in the altogether, is going to show up on Netflix?  Or, "Bad Ronald"?  Both DVD's were obtained from "rare movie" websites.

Re: Streaming Comparisons

I signed up to Foxtel Play yesterday and I cant run it through my TV or bluray player. The only thing it runs through is my sons xbox which makes it more complicated to use. I can get quickflix through my tv but it seems awfully slow to load even just to search for a movie. Not sure if I'll be ditching Foxtel just yet.

I thought they died off years ago with the advent of quickflix and bigpond movies to the door or stream.

My TV has a problem with netflix - no netflix app and I don't know how to find one.  Might investigate further over easter.  From what I've read it's up to the manufacturer to add apps with their updates but it's been suggested they will hold off for a while to push sales of new TVs.

I think it's highly likely that they will be available via Netflix, considering that Age of Consent already is in the US.

Re: Streaming Comparisons

I must admit I've only looked on my laptop.  I wouldn't have a clue on how to get it to the tv or whether I even can with the tv I have.

My TV has quickflix so I expected to be able to download an app to add netflix but apparently I have to wait for Sony to release an update with the app included.  I haven't had time to spend a few hours seeking info and trying yet but it wasn't in the easy basket so I might look  deeper over easter.
