Subway Pulls 'Sexist' Ad After Backlash

Fast food chain Subway has pulled its Halloween ad from its official YouTube channel after it was branded "sexist".

The US purveyors of lengthy sandwiches produced an ad that encouraged women to eat Subway sandwiches in order to look good in "sexy" Halloween costumes.

They encountered an online backlash, with internet users branding them "sexist" "misogynistic" and "sizeist".

The spot features a woman who consumes the company's sandwiches because she wants to fit into "all the costumes" for Halloween, like "sexy nurse" "spicy Red Riding Hood" and sexy permutations of schoolteacher and football player.

I don't see anything wrong with the ad.

I like Subway's Italian BMT best. With avocado. Yum.

I heard a young women in US  (when on holiday there) say she didn't like Subway food -  the meat was good but she didn't want salad ingredients in her sub.

Only toasted ones (ham & cheese etc) in McCafe.
