To all of those in QLD facing floods again good luck. 

140mm in my back yard last night. Roads flooded already and no let up on the near horizon. 

Take care, have your emergency plans ready to enact. 

They are opening up the dam gates down Brisbane way in preparation....

 they showed that on prime today that restaurant that was actualy waves of water crashing through that and you could see the window frames swinging very sad

we have friends up in bundy and bagara, sadly there homes were not so lucky.

"Hi, just thought I would let you know how things are going, I am fine now. Sunday morning was the scariest, a tree came down at 4.30am, went sideways and missed the house.. We are trapped in our area.

Power lines down all over blocking roads, the other way out is flooded. No power since Saturday and if lucky may get it back tomorrow, my mum's area might not get it back for a week  as they have 15 poles down.

The river is the highest it has ever been and the river bank over north has collapsed The army is in now evacuating the hospital."

Cat's son has been keeping busy with suduko and clearing away branches but finding no internet a bit frustrating.

So pleased to hear all is well with Cat's family and home and I feel so guilty for complaining about having no power for a mere 12 hours. I hope the restoration of power and the receding of the water is fast!

Well I woke up this morning to a fright as I saw this from my backyard... The Bremer River.

It rose up a lot since then as it peaked at just after 6pm this evening. 

Then literally just a walk up the road and around the street corner is this

So it was forming a semi circle around my house. 

I drove down to the main bridge into town to find it completely covered and just raging (photo's next).  And then it was reported that we were totally cut off from even the evacuation centre.  Helicoptors were flying overhead and around 4pm the Firies drove down our street and around the corner.  So no knock on our door to evacuate, just the houses below us.  Although after 6 it's dark and you can't see if the water is continuing to rise.  But knowing the firies checked it out for us is reassuring. 

Jazz will miss the first day of highschool for her tomorrow but if thats the worst that will happen then that's not to bad at all.

The Bridge that goes into town, its a huge two way bridge with a turn off as well.  Completely under, and that wasn't at it's peak either. 

I liked this next one.  Leading up to these floods we've had temps into the high 30's low to mid 40's with no rain in sight, and here this bird must just think all his dreams have come true.

My father lives at Bundy, he just retired in the last month after building his own home.  I havn't heard from him, don't even know if he's safe, if his new home is ok or what has happened to him.  I keep contacting his brother to see if he has heard anything.  So it's just been a day of worry here, yet trying not to worry due to my health history.  Hasn't been easy.

So so sad, the little boy that was hit by the tree yesterday has died 😞

Still no power to my daughter's home and she lives just over the highway from me, about a k away. Energex say tomorrow, late afternoon, before restoration.

Sunny Coast today - no wind, bright blue almost cloudless sky, no rain in sight - what a strange country we live in. Thoughts to all those still going through it and to those who are getting ready to begin the clean up.
