@Chameleon whilst I acknowledge your right to express your experiences, none of what you described in your most recent post happened in the Baxter Homicides.
The initial DVO was issued by police after Baxter took one of the children out of state for 4 days against the child's wishes and without Hannah's consent. This led to police pursuit who returned the child to the correct place according to the custody agreement. This DVO initially denied Baxter all access to his children but this was revoked after 3 days and the original custody agreement was reestablished.
This DVO did not refer to ANY incident of violence towards Hannah or the children.
I will say it again, pretend that this time it is with emphasis... The Family Law Court WAS NOT involved in this case nor were there ANY proceedings before the Court related to this case prior to the homicide on Wednesday.
Which begs the question why is the media and so many on this thread acting like a lynch mob and making accusations of systemic domestic violence ? That may be the case, but it very well may not. We simply don't have access to enough reliable, untainted information to form a judgement.
Cases of DV are not always black and white. In fact most of the time there is a lot of grey involved. This grey can come in many forms including ongoing mental health problems, institutional discrimination against men, social attitudes stereotyping males as always the aggressor and woman as always the victim, social attitudes stereotyping woman as always being the primary care giver for children and a family court system that many suggest is biased against males.
If this discrimination is causing some men such angst that it triggers a response such as this, then it is valid to question if the system is operating as fairly and effectively as it should. Many suggest that is what the detective who was removed from the case was eluding too.

No, I,m just recounting what I was told by police a few weeks ago in the 45 minute meeting I had with them at my local police station. Also the information I was given by a magistrates court when I made inquiries about gaining a restraining order for a victim of domestic violence I was assisting.
What practical stuff have you done lately to help someone affected by domestic violence ?

All the same sorts of questions I have. All I have been saying on this thread is these situations are rarely black and white and the Lynch mob mentality of some is regrettable. There definately ARE many problems with the institutiinal handling of DV. and in many cases they are exacerbating existing problems making them much worse than they might have otherwise been.
And heres one for Hannah and her little friends who kudod her post
