Dont forget to watch The Bolt Report every Sunday  on Channel 10 at 10am and 4pm

Join Andrew Bolt, one of Australia's most read, most topical newspaper columnists, as he addresses today's political and social issues through opinion commentary, panel discussion and interviews.

This week

Abbott’s deficit tax. Sacrifice or suicide?

My guest: Amanda Vanstone, former Howard Government minister and member of the Commission of Audit.

The panel: Michael Kroger and Cassandra Wilkinson.

NewsWatch: Rowan Dean.

So much to discuss: destroying the handout mentality, the deficit tax and growing corruptions scandals. Plus:  the menace of Clive Palmer’s money and the arrest of a man who quoted Churchill in public.

And this: is Labor’s what-budget-crisis? strategy clever politics or a reckless betrayal of the national interest?

Your Say and more.

The videos appear here.

"Women of the Year.All Labor.Figures".
Of course it does.I'd like to see a survey of people who work for organizations like Greenpeace,WWF and MSF and see how many are left-leaning.I'd put my last dollar on the vast majority of them being that way inclined.

The education minister and conservative commentator tangled on television as Bolt refused to toe the Coalition line, denying his role was to help the government get re-elected

The Liberal brand everywhere is on the nose - in part because there actually is no brand. Now the South Australian Liberals look likely to lose a seat in what should be their heartland:

SENIOR Liberal MPs concede a horror fortnight federally — and particularly the Defence Minister’s insult to the nation’s South Australian-based shipbuilder and its workers — was “largely” to blame for the state party’s disappointing result in the Fisher by-election.

Senior Liberals say the insult was damaging, lacked empathy and offended voters in an electorate deeply concerned about jobs.
I wouldn’t doubt for a second the federal influences. But explain to me the SA Liberal strategy of being even more Left-wing than Labor. One example from last week:

Members of the stolen generation could be compensated without going through the courts under a bill passed by South Australia’s upper house.

The bill, put forward by Liberal MLC Terry Stephens and supported by crossbenchers, would provide eligible members of the stolen generation with ex-gratia payments of up to $50,000.

Handing out compensation without requiring proof? Even Labor hasn’t ticked off on this.

it sounds like channel 10 are dumping Bolt. but the right wing will be OK with it as I'm sure Rupert will give him a job on sky

Bolt Report up in the air

AFTER his final Ten show for the year, Andrew Bolt and his family held a Christmas lunch at his home in Melbourne yesterday. Dining on his home-cooked moussaka and fennel sausages were Janet Albrechtsen, Bruce Hawker, Richard Marles, Josh Frydenberg, Tim Wilson, Andrew Landeryou and his wife, HSU official Kimberley Kitching, Judith Sloan and Rowan Dean. In a heartfelt speech to staff, Bolt said the future of his show was unclear — it may not return to Ten. While he didn’t elaborate, Diary can reveal Sky is keen to have the Bolt Report on its network. They’d also love Bolt to host his own nightly show instead of a weekly one. Executives at Sky, Ten and News Corp are highly complimentary of Bolt’s mainstream appeal and charm on camera. The fact his Sunday program rates better than ABC’s Insiders doesn’t hurt either.

wreitten by sharri markson ( the australian's media editor) I doubt very much that bolt rates better than insiders. so that would be the usual murdoch murdoch spin

I thought bolt seemed a bit anxious when i watched a bit of his show a couple of weeks ago
