Joz...you didn't even get a boat yet and you proved my point, lol.
I said...
Hey Joz. I'd like to get a boat too, but like they say.....boat stands for "Break Out Another Thousand$".
Then you said...
hi jim, money's not a problem, having to park it.. is!
Then you mentioned you might have trouble parking it and it was suggested you park it at a marina...
Then you said...
parking at a marina? that would mean fees! lol, and, i hadnt thought about it, or whether i'd want it stationed in one spot and what the costs are.
See what I mean! I know a lot of boat owners and it doesn't stop there. The cheapest part of owning a boat is buying the boat, all the additional costs soon outway the cost of the boat. For me to get a boat I'd have to buy one that can go into the open ocean ($10,000 to $20,000), then we have to pay to empty the sewage and waste water, gas, docking fees and or launch fees (ramp usage), maintenance (which can be HUGE!!!).
On top of that....winterizing and covering the boat (we shrink rap them to keep out critters, rain, leaves, snow, etc...) If we have room on our properties to store them we still need a trailer (more money) that needs to be registered and insured and those come with their own maintenance issues. Then prepping for the new season...more cash! And it always seams like a new problem arises....even though it was fine when parked for the winter.
Even a small basic boat comes with all the same things, but a lot less money...still money$$$.
Over the past couple of weeks I was at few marinas....it wont let me post them, so here's a few off the net...
This is what I'd get....
I'd prefer this (I could....but wouldn't be worth the amount of time I'd be spending on it, and seems like waste of money)..
Unless you're talking about something like this (if we had large lakes I would, otherwise I'll stick to fishing from shore..*I think "grandpa" uses one of these, lol)
