Hi Primaryaim, our almost 20year old keeps having spontaneous lung collapses. He has suffered 3 within a 3month period this year, and coupled with a prior one the year before, has had to undergo lung surgery to prevent them recurring. He had his r lung operated on at the end of July, and has only just been able to return to work.
Apparently due to his thin lanky tall build and weighing only 61kgs, he is the high risk category. Each time he has had one it causes damage to the lung, so surgery is the only way to prevent more damage. After the surgery is over on his L lung, his risk will minimise from over 85% to less than 5%, so he will be able to resume his normal lifestyle.
