Mouse, it looks like its on land at Exmouth, will continue on land for a couple of hours at a guess before heading out to sea. Thats what I get from the map, anyway.

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

'Allo

Never again will I open my big mouth too soon (til the next time)

After I posted here, bluddy heck did we cop it worse!!

Never did get any food.....

Lost, well not lost but the dinghy sank (still tied to the boat with ropes) between 1.00am and 4.00am (when we decided it was safe to go to bed....doh)
OH and a workmate of mine have not long towed it to shore to bail it out and see if the motor is going to work!

I have some video of the weather but I don't know how to post it as it's a lot of mgb and photobucket is taking too long to load...maybe too much mgb? I can't edit them either... I was only going to post one...just so you all know I'm not full of chit..:-p

Mugs, I hope Nick got home and no I don't expect a reply if he did...lol......have a great few days together xx

OH had the freaking cheek to say to me this morning, am I going to get fed this morning?

Wanted bacon and eggs but i had no bacon rashers, only diced so I offered a yummy omlette or rolls...
Noooo, sooky bum didn't waant that, that's not what he said...
Wanted eggs on toast instead... then said, " you've had it pretty easy for cooking the last couple of days'.....WTF!!!

I better go now i've had my rant.....LOL

Hope to get back here tomorrow after work, if the dinghy doesn't work I'm going to have to beg a lift off my workmate who is brilliant but he won't want to start when I do...

Have a good one all and sorry for the long (boring) post..

xx

Tende pull the plug and wash out really well with fresh water drain and replace fuel, put lots of RP7 or WD4o into it and turn it so the plug hole is at the bottom and pull it over, then get it started as soon as possible to dry all the water out of the internals.

Being a boatie I imagine you all ready know this, just tying to help.

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

wash out really well with fresh water

That means the crankcase as well to wash the water out of the bearings, That will require flushing via the carbie and draining via plug.

You may need to drain carbie in case it also has water and some Aroe start wont go astray

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

:-x Hawk, thank you.

They took a backpack full of tools and WD40 or whatever it was, and ended up going into the marina (the swell helped push them that way) where there is a plentiful supply of fresh water..

They were going to near the club (where there is a hose) but it was too rough to tow through the swell.

just got a text msg from DPA (Dampier Port Authority) to say not to get too comfy as there is a low off the kimberleys that could affect us at the Pilbara coast by next Tuesday..

Somewhat over it by now...lol

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

Did they get it going yet? its important to get it started ASAP to get the water thats inside dried with the heat from running.

I race small model boats and quite often have to get them running after a dunk at 80 100 kmh at wide open throttle.

That sucks there is more weather coming, so when are you heading to Adelaide?

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

Haven't heard from them yet..

OH didn't take his phone, just saw it on the table!

Adelaide.... not sure.

We have made a 'pact' that we want to leave here by August this year but will be doing some more 'sightseeing' and then pulling boat out in Geralton or Perth (somewhere around there) for maintainence(sp), antifouling, a dodger for the cold weather etc..

I just want to be gone from here now...lol

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

I dont blame you, you have had a rough few weeks and face even more.

Think you may have picked the wrong time of year to be that far North.

I hope you come this way this way so I can catch up.
Some nice water in both of our golfs
