Hawk,
I fly over to QLD as often as I can, usually a couple of times a year but the last time I saw my family was August last year when my second granddaughter was born.
Too long!

Brass monkey weather...know it well :^O

Forgot to say I love your puppy Lis, he's a cutie.

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

What is "brass monkey weather"?

LOL, LTS, I knew instantly what she-ele meant. It must be an English/NZ thing?

It has to do with balls and the freezing thereof:^O

thanks for that keelia - though I'm certain my DD's have no, ahem, bits that will freeze!!

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

So I'm making a hearty soup & beer bread for the DD's dinner tonight - it's their fave soup - & I got started then realised "no tarragon". Darn it!! So I had to duck out for it, realising only when I got to the checkout that I still had my apron on...

It's making lovely smells...

My hands are hurting now - from all the chopping of the vege's... soup had better turn out good, for all my efforts...

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

Some of my herbs are beyond the 'best before' date - but because they are dried, does it really matter?

*giggles* at LTS wearing her apron to the shops.

Not that early Hawk, was 8am when I posted. The kids were on 'go-slow' today. Felt like a monday actually. LOL.

Thanks Tende, puppy is super cute and fitting in really well. Will start chewing soon, theres a fun stage. LOL. I can handle anything other than digging, dont suppose you would have that problem on the boat. At least I sure hope not!! LOL. Glad the wedding plans are coming together.

Yeah, just a little, because it's going to get worse before the week is out, and I don't want to think about that! LOL
Your right, dont want to think of that! LOL.

Nice and sunny, taking the edge off the chill. Enjoy the rest of your day all.

No LTS, doesnt really matter, do a bit of a smell and taste test though, make sure they're not stale. Stale dried herbs wont bring out the flavours properly.

Re: The Official West Australia Thread!

Yes I thought as much. My Mum says about old herbs or spices "they don't work". She put tonnes of paprika on something once (she was ckooing at my house), when I said "whoh" she said, "oh i forget, your is fresher than mine, mine doesn't work"

Yep, at least I didn't have my slippers on too
