Once again we hear of another incident in France, involving an individual of the islamic faith. Disturbing as this must be to those who were involved, Passengers, Train Employees, Police/Military, and the three very brave "rescuers", there are some worrying aspects of this latest incident.
We must remember our history, and France for many, many, many, years held control over vast sections of upper Africa, with most of the populations being of the islamic faith. In the 1960's France gave up "her control" of most of these provinces, and allowed them to have self rule. Those countries have never forgotten, or in some cases their peoples, have never "forgiven France" for her treatment of them. Countries such as Algeria, Lybia, Tunisia, and others.
It seems now that another generation of upper African nationalities have organized themselves to "remind" France and her people, that the call of islam is being answered, and directed at "their former masters".
Is this a real call to islam ? or is the islamic faith being used as a "trogen horse" ? to achieve other means or attention ?

How far back must we remember our history?
http://markhumphrys.com/christianity.killings.html
The Church started killing unbelievers as early as the 4th century.
The killing (often with torture) of heretics, church splinter groups, dissenters, atheists, agnostics, deists, pagans, infidels and unbelievers was supported by almost all mainstream Christian theology for over a thousand years, starting with the intolerant St. Augustine (died 430 AD).
Much (but not all) of Christianity's killing is in the past. Christianity had a long run as the world's most violent religion

Anyways....blame Abraham for the terrorism. He terrorized his own family...whatever flavour you fancy.
If there was a thread on CS re the thoughts of murder of his son then I am sure that most would wish him the best rotting away in a very
dark place

You sow the wind - you reap the whirlwind.
The history of the world is the history of one nation or culture trying to dominate others. We've had the Babylonian Empire, the Roman empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Holy Roman Empire, The Napoleonic Empire the British Empire, the Soviet Empire, and The Third Reich - to mention just a few - and ultimately all of them have collapsed. History repeats itself like Groundhog Day, and we never learn.

We have even had 'History of the World' - Mel Brooks.

But only part 1 - maybe that's the problem.

I just think that radical islam is on the rise, becoming more fashionable if you like.
And with each touch of fame & success, it grows a little more.
Christianity had its day of violence but that peak is well past. It's the current threats we have to worry about and that is an Islamic threat.
I doubt it has all that much to do with France's colonial days. It has a lot more to do with the migration mix living in France at the moment.

Perhaps there will finally be world peace when we are all brindle and there is no religion.
