The bandwidth effect.The last mile.

Malcolm Turbull said Verizon are not rolling out Fibre to the premises any more. It seems he is wrong about that.

Ignoring the fact that the video is a Verizon ad, it is a good explanation of why FTTP is the way our NBN should continue in its current form.

Re: The bandwidth effect. The last mile.

The original wireless with optus was all but useless so that went back. Vodafone pre paid is what I have now for my general use. We have a Telstra Elite thingy too for when we want to use the tablets etc. Vodafone is much cheaper.

Re: The bandwidth effect. The last mile.

We didn't have any cheap wireless options available.

It used to cost me over $100 for 5GB before I got the NBN.

Re: The bandwidth effect. The last mile.

I have never heard of a gateway. Maybe someone else?

Depends on what I need as to data use. School holidays we use more. Sometimes as little as 500mb is enough per month

It's better here now they have put another 2 towers up, glad I'm not close to those! That's another issue lol

Vodafone is $19 for 500 $29 for 2 and so on. And if I don't use the internet for a month or so I'm not paying a monthy a/c.

I'm still confused as to the towers and the NBN....

No, fairly sure it was you. I remember you were going to try the Optus wireless connection for net and phone because Telstra wanted to charge a lot for a connection to your new house.

A gateway is just another name for a modem/device that you can connect your computers, phone etc to to access the network.

I didn't know you sent it back.

Wow, what do you do online? I use more than that in a day  ๐Ÿ˜„

Your plan would never suit me   ๐Ÿ˜„

If NBN is in your area soon the house will get connected at no cost.

There was a story last week where the pit was outside the shop door and they wanted *$7000 to connect it. After some fighting the cost was reduced to *$4000. *approximate

The current NBN conenctions are free to the house.

You obviously pay for a service if you order one, but not the connection.
